Heart & Soul Free Clinic in Westfield reports it treated about 700 people — roughly 1,700 visits — in 2025 and relies on volunteers, grants and fundraisers to provide no-cost care. The clinic received a $50,000 grant Sept. 1, 2026, and the Mission Hills Charity Jam is set for Sept. 19, 2026 to raise additional support.

Avon and Brownsburg high school tennis complexes win USTA Outstanding Facility Awards; Brownsburg coach honored

The Avon High School Tennis Center and the Brownsburg High School Tennis Complex were named among 41 recipients of the USTA’s 2026 Outstanding Facility Awards; Brownsburg coach Spencer Fields received a 35 x 35 President’s Impact Award after organizing the Indiana Hardcourt Championships in August 2026 that brought players, officials and fans to Brownsburg.

A shared vision: High school seniors drive fight against ALS

As reported Sept. 14, 2026, Noblesville resident and Park Tudor senior Aryav Das and co-founder Samarth Dunakhe have directed more than $25,000 to the ALS Therapy Development Institute and planned a fundraiser at the Chipotle at 14635 Hazel Dell Crossing in Noblesville on Sept. 19, 2026, 4–8 p.m.

IU names global orthopedic technology executive as CEO of NSF IMPACT Engine in Indiana

On 2026-09-14 Indiana University announced Jim Lancaster as CEO and principal investigator of the NSF IMPACT Engine in Indiana, an IU‑led coalition focused on musculoskeletal health that will receive an initial NSF award of $15 million (two years) and could receive up to $160 million over 10 years to accelerate research-to-market efforts.
