IndyGo, City of Lawrence and Ivy Tech offer Purple Line Park & Ride to State Fair Aug. 7–23
IndyGo announced a new Purple Line Park & Ride for the Indiana State Fair scheduled Aug. 7–23, with free parking at Fort Harrison Station next to Ivy Tech’s Lawrence campus (9301 E. 59th St.), buses about every 15 minutes, roughly 30-minute trips and a $2.75 one-way fare.
IndyGo, in partnership with the City of Lawrence and Ivy Tech Community College, announced a Purple Line Park & Ride option to serve Indiana State Fair attendees from August 7 through August 23, 2026. Riders were instructed they could park free at the lot adjacent to IndyGo’s Fort Harrison Station, on Wheeler Road south of Ivy Tech’s Lawrence campus at 9301 E. 59th St., and ride directly to the fair’s main gates.
Operational details released by IndyGo said buses would arrive about every 15 minutes and take roughly a half hour to reach the fairgrounds. A one-way ride costs $2.75 for passengers older than five. Payment options listed include a physical MyKey+ card, the MyKey+ mobile app, or exact cash; drivers will not provide change and debit/credit cards are not accepted. IndyGo planned free travel-training sessions at Fort Harrison Station on Aug. 7 and Aug. 8, and the agency noted the Purple Line’s final fairbound departure was scheduled for 9:45 p.m.; both the fair and the Purple Line were said to close at 10 p.m. on Sundays. The City of Lawrence stated its police department would increase patrols at and around the Ivy Tech parking lot.
